Berapa Lama Nabi Yunus Berada di dalam Perut Ikan?

Nabi Yunus as. sadar telah melakukan dosa karena meninggalkan Ninawa sebelum memperoleh izin dari Allah.

Nabi Yunus as. juga tahu bahwa hasil keputusan undian tersebut merupakan penebusan dosa yang harus dia lakukan.

Nabi Yunus as. tanpa ragu melompat ke tengah lautan.

Cuaca yang tadinya buruk perlahan-lahan berubah.

Angin kencang yang tadi mengombang-ambing kapal pun mulai tenang kembali.

Tubuh Nabi Yunus as. terhempas ke dalam gelombang dahsyat.

Dinginnya air lautan menelan tubuhnya.

Tiba-tiba, Allah mengirimkan ikan Nun untuk menelan tubuh Nabi Yunus as.

Di dalam tubuh ikan Nun tersebut, Nabi Yunus as. memohon ampun kepada Allah.

“Mahasuci Allah. Aku telah berdosa. Mohon ampunilah dosaku ini….”

Pesan kisah:

Pintu tobat selalu terbuka selama manusia belum menutup mata.

Doa Nabi Yunus AS

Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda terkait dengan doa Nabi Yunus as,

دَعْوَةُ ذِي النُّونِ إِذْ دَعَا وَهُوَ فِي بَطْنِ الحُوتِ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَدْعُ بِهَا رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُ

“Doa Dzunnun (Nabi Yunus ‘alaihissalam) ketika di perut ikan adalah, “Tidak ada tuhan yang berhak disembah selain Engkau. Sesungguhnya aku termasuk orang-orang yang zalim.” Sesungguhnya tidak seorang muslim pun yang berdoa dengannya dalam suatu masalah, melainkan Allah akan mengabulkan doanya.”

(HR. Tirmidzi, dan dishahihkan oleh Syaikh Al Albani).

Rasulullah SAW Memuji Kemuliaan Sifat Nabi Yunus as

Nabi Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam juga memuji Nabi Yunus ‘alaihissalam dalam sabdanya,

لاَ يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ: أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى

“Tidak layak bagi seorang hamba mengatakan, “Saya (Nabi Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) lebih baik daripada Yunus bin Mata.” (Muttafaq ‘alaih)

Firman Allah Ta’ala

فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ ءَامَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَآ إِيمَٰنُهَآ إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ ءَامَنُوا۟ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْخِزْىِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

falau lā kānat qaryatun āmanat fa nafa’ahā īmānuhā illā qauma yụnus, lammā āmanụ kasyafnā ‘an-hum ‘ażābal-khizyi fil-ḥayātid-dun-yā wa matta’nāhum ilā ḥīn

Dan mengapa tidak ada (penduduk) suatu kota yang beriman, lalu imannya itu bermanfaat kepadanya selain kaum Yunus? Tatkala mereka (kaum Yunus itu), beriman, Kami hilangkan dari mereka azab yang menghinakan dalam kehidupan dunia, dan Kami beri kesenangan kepada mereka sampai kepada waktu yang tertentu. (QS. Yunus: 98)

How long was Prophet Jonah in the fish’s stomach?

Prophet Yunus AS. realized that he had committed a sin because he left Ninawa before obtaining permission from Allah.

Prophet Yunus AS. also knew that the result of the lottery decision was the penance he had to do.

Prophet Yunus AS. without hesitation jumped into the middle of the ocean.

The weather that was previously bad is slowly changing.

The strong wind that had been tossing the ship began to calm down again.

The body of the Prophet Yunus AS. crashed into a powerful wave.

The cold ocean water swallowed his body.

Suddenly, Allah sent a Nun fish to swallow the body of Prophet Yunus as.

In the body of the Nun fish, Prophet Yunus AS. ask Allah for forgiveness.

“Glory be to Allah. I have sinned. Please forgive my sin…”

Story message:

The door of repentance is always open as long as humans have not closed their eyes.

Prayer of the Prophet Yunus AS

Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said regarding the prayer of Prophet Yunus as,

دَعْوَةُ ذِي النُّونِ إِذْ دَعَا وَهُوَ فِي بَطْنِ الحُوتِ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ Amen ُ إِلَّا اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُ

“The prayer of Dzunnun (Prophet Yunus ‘alaihissalam) when in the belly of a fish is, “There is no god who has the right to be worshiped besides You. Indeed, I am one of the wrongdoers.” In fact, not a single Muslim prays with him in a matter, but Allah will grant his prayer.

Rasulullah SAW Praises the Glory of Prophet Yunus AS

Prophet Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam also praised Prophet Yunus ‘alaihissalam in his words,

لاَ يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ: أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى

“It is not proper for a servant to say, “I (the Prophet Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) is better than Yunus bin Mata.” (Muttafaq ‘alaih)

Word of Allah Ta’ala

فَلَوَْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ ءَامَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَآ إِيمَٰنُهَآ إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ ءَامَنُوا ۟ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْخِزْىِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

falau lā kānat qaryatun āmanat fa nafa’ahā īmānuhā illā qauma yụnus, lammā āmanụ kasyafnā ‘an-hum ‘ażābal-khizyi fil-ḥayātid-dun-yā wa matta’nāhum ilā ḥīn

And why is there no (inhabitants of) a city that believes, then his faith is beneficial to him other than the people of Jonah? When they (Jonah’s people) believed, We removed from them the humiliating punishment in the life of this world, and We gave them pleasure for a certain time. (QS. Yunus: 98)
