Kini ia diangkat menjadi pelukis kerajaan.

A Good Painter (Brothers Grimm)
John was a royal charioteer who loved his sister Mary very much.
Actually, John is a good painter.
In fact, John’s paintings are so beautiful, that they seem to be real and appear alive.
Among his many paintings, John likes and loves his sister Mary’s paintings the most.
He kept his painting in the palace stables.
When he is sad, he likes to talk to his younger brother’s paintings.
Apparently, it was noticed by other palace officials who peeked through the door.
He thought that Mary’s painting was a real girl who was very beautiful in appearance.
Gradually the incident spread by word of mouth around the kingdom, and finally the news reached the king.
Out of curiosity, the king also peeked at John’s habit of talking to the painting of Mary in the stables through the keyhole.
“Oh Lord! Who is that girl! How beautiful she is! I have never seen a girl as beautiful as her!” praised the King in amazement.
Because of the beauty of the painting, the King immediately fell in love.
After knowing that the girl was John’s sister, the unmarried king immediately called Mary and married her.
After the King married Mary, John was no longer the royal charioteer.
Now he was appointed as a royal painter.
Of course he could spend all day painting to his heart’s content. ***
